I don't understand greetings. When you first meet someone, you are generally expected to shake hands or hug them, or something of that sort. I don't know why though. If I barely know you, why do I want to touch you? Why do you feel the need to touch me? The meeting isn't any different if we all just keep our hands to ourselves. You don't know them any better if you transfer your germs for one awkward second any more that if you were to wave, or just say hello. It just seems like a very odd practice.
